Karur Vysya Bank inaugurates its first Aadhaar Enrollment Centre at Nelson Manickam Road Branch in Chennai on Wednesday. The first Aadhaar Enrolment Centre was inaugurated by DM Gajare, Assistant Director General of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), Regional Office, Bengaluru.
KVB became first private sector bank to provide Aadhaar Enrollment
With the inauguration of the Aadhaar enrollment Centre, Karur Vysya Bank became first private sector bank to provide this service in India.
Earlier UIDAI has given directives to all commercial banks to provide Aadhaar enrollment and updation facility at their branches through its notification on July 13, 2017. Karur Vysya Bank immediately identified branches and ensured early implementation of the directive.
Following the inauguration of the facility at Chennai, KVB will provide Aadhaar enrollment and updation of Aadhaar data facilities to all its customers at this centre.
Customers have to bring with them any of the approved documents as proofs of residence and identity. The process of Enrolment for Aadhaar / updating the details in Aadhaar card can be completed in about 15 minutes.
The bank plans to make this service available at 75 more branches across the country.
In a separate notification to the Bombay Stock Exchange the bank said that it has appointed PR Seshadri as its new chief executive officer and the appointment has been ratified by the Reserve Bank of India.
