Centre has changed Government nominee directors in four public sector banks (PSBs), appointing four Joint Secretary level officials as ‘Government nominee director’ in these banks.
Government brings in Joint Secretary level officials in four public sector banks namely Allahabad Bank, Central Bank of India, Punjab and Sindh Bank and United Bank of India.
Who has been appointed as Government nominee directors in four PSBs ?
Allahabad Bank – Centre has appointed Rajeev Ranjan, Joint Secretary in the Department of Expenditure as its nominee director replacing Anshuman Sharma.
Central Bank of India – Govind Mohan has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs as Government nominee director in the bank. He replaces Saurabh Garg for Board level position.
Punjab and Sindh Bank – S Selvakumar, Joint Secretary in Department of Economic Affairs has been appointed as Government nominee director in the place of S R Mehar, official sources said.
United Bank of India – Sameer Kumar Khare, Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs has been appointed as Government nominee director in the Bank. He has replaced A K Dogra.
It may be recalled that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had recently initiated prompt corrective action (PCA) against Central Bank of India.
