Dear Bankers, DA slabs will be revised from November 2017 for bank clerks, officers employees. But exactly how much DA slabs increase for Nov 2017 is difficult to predict. There are different predictions on increase in DA slabs or percentage change in DA for November 2017 to January 2018. Accurate change in DA slabs can only be calculated after Consumer Price Index (CPI) data for September , October is released by Labour Bureau. Calculation of DA slabs increase depends on CPI figures. Previous Dearness Allowance (DA) payable to bank employees and officers for August to October 2017 is 47.80 which is likely to be increased by 3.80 if our expected DA increase calculation for bankers comes out to be true. Dearness Allowance is cost of living allowance paid to central government employees , PSU employees , pensioners to protect the erosion in the real value of basic salary on account of inflation.

CPI Data for August 2017 : 6505.38
Suppose CPI Data for September 2017 and October 2017 remain unchanged : 6505.38
Calculating average CPI ,
Average CPI = CPI for (August+September+October 2017)/3
Which comes out to be 6505.38
Deduct 4440 slabs which are merged in basic pay as per 10th bipartite settlement = 6505.38-4440=2065.38
Dividing Average CPI by 4 to get DA slabs for quarter = 2065.38/4 = 516 (rounding off)
So DA slab for next quarter will be 516 on which 0.10 percent is payable as DA.. i.e, 51.60 percent
So expected new DA payable for next quarter November 2017, December 2017 and January 2018 to bankers, officers, workmen will be 51.60 percent
Expected increase in DA slabs for bankers , clerks, officer for Nov 2017 :
DA slabs for November , December and January 2018 = 516
Number of Slabs for previous quarter (August, September, October) =578
Expected Increase in DA slabs from November 2017 = 516-478= 38 Slabs or 3.80 percent increase in DA
