How to Stop SBI Cheque Payment with YONO Application

Stop SBI Cheque Payment in SBI YONO Application – State Bank of India (SBI) is country’s largest bank and most of us have our bank account in SBI, either business account or saving account. Along with various facilities, you also get Cheque book facility from bank while we open account.

Safety of Cheque is very important, so you should keep it in safe place in your custody.

What if you issue cheque to wrong person by mistake? What if you lose or misplace your cheque? – If such things happen, you must immediately stop payment of the cheque. You can stop cheque payment using SBI online portal as well as SBI YONO app. I suggest you to use SBI YONO App because it is very easy and convenient.

Step-by-step : Stop SBI Cheque Payment in YONO

Step 1Login to SBI Yono Application using “User ID” and “Password”

Step 2On the home screen page, Click on “Requests”

Step 3 You will get various options likes Aadhaar Linking, Get MMID, Cancel MMID, Cheque Book, TDS enquiry. Choose “Cheque Book” Option.

Step 4 – On the next page, select “Stop Cheque / Revoke Stop Cheque Instruction

Step 5 – Select “Account Number”

Step  6 – Fill the “Stop Cheque” online form.

  • Enter “Start Cheque Number” and “End Cheque Number
  • Select Instrument Type – Normal Cheque or Multicity Cheque
  • Select Stop Reason – Issued in Error, Stolen, Paid in Cash, Lost in Post, Cheque Reissued or Other Reason whatever it may be.
  • Once you complete the form, Submit it.

Note : Charges to be deducted for Stop Cheque Payment will be shown on the screen below, Which will be automatically debited from your account.

Step 7 – Once you submit the form, a confirmation message with unique reference number will be displayed on the screen. Note it for future reference.

The procedure to revoke stop cheque payment instructions is same as above up to step 4. Next after, follow these steps:

Step 1 – Select “Revoke Cheque” option.

Step 2 – Select “Account Number” for which you want to Revoke Stop Cheque Instructions

Step 3 – Fill the Form

  • Enter “Start Cheque Number” and “End Cheque Number”
  • Select “Normal Cheque” or “Multicity Cheque”
  • Submit after filling the form.

Step 4 – A confirmation message for “Revoke Stop Cheque Payment” Instructions with unique reference will be displayed on the screen. Note it for future reference.
